TEACH YOUR DOG TO COME
PREPARATION
Use a collar and long leach or check cord to teach your
dog to "come".  For best results use a leash or cord at
least 15 ft long.  Before training, accustom your dog to the
sensation of the collar and the effect of the leash.  Finally,
train when and where there are no distractions

TRAINING
Stand with your pup several feet from you.  Gently pull her
toward you with the cord.  At this point, it is best to not use
any verbal command.  As your dog reaches you, pet her or
give treats as praise.  Repeat the pulling in and praise a
few more times.  The first lesson should only be a few
minutes long.

After a few sessions you will notice the slightest tug on the
cord starts your pup right toward you.  Once this occurs,
say "come" one time and in a normal voice at the same
instant you start to pull on the cord.  Repeat this process
until the cord, although still attached to the collar, plays no
part in bring you puppy towards you.

SUCCESS
At this point, remove the cord and work in a controlled
area.  Continue to use the verbal command and praise
your dog every time she correctly responds.  There will be
instances when she challenges your authority.  When this
occurs, go back to using the leash or cord for a period of
time.
